2020 Pure Bud White Pu-er mini cake is a young tea that straddles the worlds of white and Pu-er tea. This cake is crafted from extra large, spring-harvested buds from Camellia taliensis that was grown in Yang Ta Village in Jing Gu County in the mountainous southwestern part of Yunnan Province in China at an elevation around 5,000 feet. The buds were sun-dried, classifying it as a Pu-er instead of a white tea, and then pressed into this beautiful tea cake.
The plump buds yield a very smooth and delicate, light-bodied infusion that is clean with sweet and fresh notes of grass and subtle floral rounded out with the mild fermentation notes of a young Sheng Pu-er. This cake will continue to age and will develop sweet notes of honey and hay.
The mini cake is 100g (3.5 oz). The leaves can be infused multiple times. The buds are loosely pressed and can easily be pried apart with a Pu-er knife.
