Gunpowder Organic, also known as Zhu Cha or Pearl Tea, is a green tea from the Zhejiang Province in China. The province is located on the east coast, just north of Fujian, and is mostly hilly with plains dominating in the north. The climate is humid and subtropical, providing an ideal climate for this agricultural region. Gunpowder teas are produced in varying grades in large quantity, mainly for export. This is a good starter green tea that is more forgiving to brew.
Our higher grade leaves have been rolled into nuggets that unfurl yielding a strong, smooth and balanced, medium-bodied infusion with slightly smoky, nutty and earthy notes.
