Rukeri Estate Organic is a green tea that is produced in this American-owned garden in the African country of Rwanda. The estate was established in the 1970’s and is located in the northwestern part of the country at an elevation about 5,900 feet. Over 75% of the tea leaves are grown and harvested by smallholder farmers and 80% of the tea leaves are processed into CTC black tea.
These hand-harvested leaves are processed into a green tea that yields a light-bodied, smooth, and slightly astringent infusion with notes of steamed vegetables.
