– Out of stockGlenburn Estate Autumn Wulong Tea is from the famous tea-producing Darjeeling Region in the foothills of the Himalayas in the state of West Bengal in northeastern India. Established around 1859, the 1600-acre estate is located at about 3,200 feet and is planted with the Camellia sinensis sinensis variety of the tea plant. The garden uses sustainable agricultural practices and is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership, a tea-specific fair trade organization. As such, it provides living and working conditions that exceed those required by Indian law, a hospital and schools for the workers’ children.
Autumn-harvested teas are plucked in the autumn beginning in September after the monsoon rains have ended and into November before the much colder temperatures arrive.
Curly, multi-colored leaves and buds have been light– to mid-oxidized to yield a smooth, balanced, clean, medium-bodied infusion that is flavorful and complex with sweet, fruity, hay and floral notes.
