Jin Xuan Formosa is crafted from the popular Jin Xuan cultivar in Nantou County, Taiwan. This cultivar originated in Taiwan in the 1980’s and has since been planted in many other wulong producing regions around the world. Jin Xuan translates as “Golden Lily” and this cultivar is known for its creamy, milky aroma, giving it its other name of “Milk Wulong”. The leaves are grown at an elevation about 2,000 feet and are lightly-oxidized around 20-30%.
The rolled leaves unfurl to yield a very smooth and richly aromatic, light- to medium-bodied infusion with floral, sweet cream, caramelized sugar and subtle spicy notes. Please note that there is no flavor added to this tea and this one has the most floral notes of our three Jin Xuan wulong teas.
Leaves may be infused multiple times.
