Jin Xuan Formosa is crafted from the popular Jin Xuan cultivar in the northern Chiang Rai Province of Thailand. This cultivar originated in Taiwan in the 1980’s and has since been planted in many other wulong producing regions around the world. Jin Xuan translates as “Golden Lily” and this cultivar is known for its creamy, milky aroma, giving it its other name of “Milk Wulong”. The leaves are grown in a pristine, humid environment surrounded by forests at an elevation between 1,300 and 2,300 feet. After harvest, they are rolled and lightly oxidized about 20%-25%.
The rolled leaves unfurl to yield an aromatic, smooth, light-bodied infusion with creamy, floral, and fresh notes. Please note that there is no flavor added to this tea and this one has the most balance between the floral and creamy notes of our three Jin Xuan wulong teas.
Leaves may be infused multiple times.
