Bug-Bitten Formosa is a rare black tea from Hualien County on the eastern coast of Taiwan. The leaves are grown at elevations between 1,600 and 2,000 feet and are hand-plucked and processed each summer after the young leaves have been nibbled on by the leaf hopper.
Long, slightly curled, dark leaves yield a smooth, medium-bodied, wulong-like infusion with notes of honey, floral, and malt.
