Kanoka Estate Organic is a full leaf black tea from one of the few organic tea producers in the Assam Region of India. This small, family-run garden is located at an elevation about 150 feet in Panchnoi Village in north-central Assam. The eight-acre tea garden is planted with Camellia sinensis assamica and the family only produces about 2,100 pounds of hand-harvested and hand-processed tea a year. This is a spring-harvested batch and is milder than the typical summer-harvested Assams that are prevalent.
The large leaves with some bud yield a flavorful, complex and leathery, medium- to full-bodied infusion that is slightly astringent with sweet notes of malt and dried plums. Recommended to drink plain without milk.
