Roasted Jade is a deliciously satisfying wulong from Nantou County on the island of Taiwan. Jade is a general term used to categorize wulong teas produced throughout central Taiwan at some of the lightest levels of oxidation at about 15-25%. This tea is crafted from a blend of traditional Taiwanese cultivars that are grown at an elevation around 3,600 feet in a temperate highland tropical climate. Three to four leaves and a small bud are still attached to the stem, which are lightly oxidized around 20%, then rolled and heavily roasted.
The very dark leaves unfurl to yield a rich and smooth, medium-bodied infusion that is complex with deep, sweet, roasted and caramelized sugar notes.
Leaves may be infused multiple times.
