Tie Luo Han, also known as Iron Arhat, is a Yan Cha (Rock or Cliff) wulong tea from the Wu Yi Mountain Region in the Fujian Province of China. This is a truly rare cultivar and one of the oldest processed in the Wu Yi Shan region, reportedly over 1,000 years. In addition, it is considered one of the finest Chinese wulong teas. These leaves are hand-processed in the traditional manner, which includes mid-oxidation around 40-50% and a slow, careful roasting that takes place over a 3-month period.
The large, twisted leaves unfurl to yield a strong, rich and smooth, medium-bodied infusion that is complex and aromatic with sweet, mineral, toasty, and fruity notes and a hint of spice.
Leaves may be infused multiple times.
